let's do it.

When I return home one of the very first things I am going to do is go to yoga. I miss my studio in Sandy so much. I am going to do my best to do a 30 day challenge. I made this chart to keep me motivated and as a reminder. It isn't the exact routine, but it is as close as I could get it, with a few advanced postures at the end. After every day you practice, mark it off. I tried to leave some room in each box for notes and things about your practice that day. Let's do it together!

Clouds in the Sky

I recently finished my internship with Sycamore Street Press.
They were kind enough to let me design and print my own creation.
This was the design I came up with.
It is an 11 x 14 poster print of the clouds in the sky.
I had so much fun with the whole process.
I am officially in love with letterpress and can't wait to own my own.
If you would like a copy of this you can go here and buy one.
blood, sweat and tears went into this. Well no blood, gross.
Enjoy!

a routine

I don't know about you, but I am worthless without a routine.
More like a written out schedule.
Especially now that I am working, on my own, from home.
First I just made the schedule.
Then I realized I wasn't sticking to my plan.
And I couldn't remember if I had done what I was planning.
So then I made the chart to keep track.
Let's hope it works.

jobs.

I was recently hired for two jobs.
One very small, the other very big.
First, Insure pro hired me again to make them a quick flier.
Second, American Preparatory Schools hired me
to make bulletin boards for their schools.
A bulletin board for every lesson of every grade.
It's a doozy. This is the first one.
I don't have a lot of freedom with this job,
but I am still able to give it a certain look.
Wish me luck!

Desktop Calendar: July

Every month I am going to start making a desktop calender.
This one is a little busy, but I like it.
Simply download and save the image and then set it to your desktop.
And if you don't mind and are feeling kind, you could post this link to your facebook. eh eh?

My cute brother in law twins graduated from high school. Also my sister graduated with her Master's degree. I am so proud. I was happy to make them some announcements.

letterpress

I love this little video. There are so many different kinds of presses. I am loving learning about all the different ways to create art.

hair stylist business card

This was an idea that I drew up for a hair stylist. I sketched the different flowers and scissors with colored pencil and then arranged the rest in InDesign. The client sent me a few different pictures of floral pieces but also some that had to do with hair and styling. I also really like the look of Katie Vernon's work. So that was the inspiration for this piece and this is what I came up with.  I am still trying to figure out my style and where my niche is. I haven't quite found it yet, but I still like the way this turned out.

Martha Stewart

Another assignment that I forgot about. We had to replicate a magazine spread from scratch. I of course chose a spread from Martha Stewart Living. I absolutely loved this assignment. It was a blast. The fonts that Martha uses are hard to come by, so those are a little different. Done in Photoshop and InDesign.

izze ad

I forgot about this assignment that I did. I can't even remember what the assignment was. I chose to make an advertisement for Izze's flavor sparkling pear. I love Izze. I drink them all the time.
