meet Linus

Meet Linus. Our 9 week, mostly deaf, boxer puppy. Don't ask me how it happened, it just did. For awhile we weren't sure if we would be able to keep him. We can keep him and we are thrilled about it (for the most part). The potty training, chewing, and just plain puppy-hood are really taking us back to when Lucy was a puppy. Harder than we remember! Lucy is starting to really like him. love it.

Sorry about the picture overload, but if you have seen this video, you know you should never hold out on puppy pictures. Be a human being and look at these pictures of a puppy.

hiking

Summer has come and is going, soon to be gone. If I am to be really honest, then I will have to admit that I am not too sad. While I do love summer in the beginning, by the end I am so so ready for fall and winter. I love the corn on the cob, the watermelon and well all the food that comes with this hot season, but what I really love most is being outside so much. Hiking is one of my favorite parts about summer. What is not to love? Gorgeous views, fresh air, exercise and it is the best way to get your thoughts in order. We didn't go on nearly enough hikes this summer. We still have a couple more weeks, maybe we will sneak in a few more before all the leaves change colors.

snow day

Last Saturday David Lucy and I were out and about running errands and Lucy started getting antsy. So we pulled over to a high school football field to let her run and play in the snow. It reminded me so much of the scene from Love Story when they play in the snow. So I made our own little snow scene movie. Enjoy!

two years

It has been two years since I married the fine man that my hubs is. To celebrate we spent the day doing what we love. We went up Millcreek Canyon, the only one that allows dogs. We were hoping to go snow shoeing, but seeing how it is now spring, we went on a hike instead. The trail was an icy, muddy and sometimes snowy one. And even though I fell on my butt at least 8 times, it was a beautiful day. Why is that David can "ski" down the icy trail, but when I try I make weird noises, swing my arms around grasping for some branch to save me and then proceed to slide on my butt. I blame it on my lack of exposure to sports like skateboarding and snowboarding.  Lucy had a grand old time running like a mad woman all over the mountains.
We finished the night by going to a hibachi grill downtown and to a movie. Since it was our anniversary we got so much free food! The sushi chef, the hibachi chef and even the owner himself wished us a happy year with complimentary food. Thanks guys! When we decided to go to a hibachi grill all I could think about was that moment when the chef makes you catch a piece of shrimp in your mouth. I've seen those people who think they can catch it and then with out fail the shrimp bounces off their forehead. I was dreading it all night and then it came. He looked at me with his spatula and the little piece of shrimp. I hesitated then tilted my head back, closed my eyes (yes I know, smart) and opened my mouth. And wouldn't you know, I caught it! First time! And not to brag but it took David 3 times to do it!
The last two years have been amazing. We have lived in Sandy, Provo, Tampa Florida and St. George! For me home is where ever David is, and I can't wait to see all the places we will call home this year!

Our little model

Awhile back the talented Nicole Hill Gerulat recruited Lucy for a pet photo shoot.
It was so fun to show Lucy's talents off and be a part of Nicole's work.
Isn't she cute?

p.s. some of you may know that I applied to BYU.
well, I didn't get accepted.
I guess this is one of those times when I just have to have
faith and believe that God has other plans for me.
We will see what the future holds I guess.
I guess Im just not meant to be a cougar, my blood is red.
through and through.

we tandem

Since it warmed up, we have been going for a tandem bike ride every night. Lucy of course runs along next to us. It is the perfect way to get an energetic boxer completely exhausted.

Someone had a birthday. And that someone is our little Lucy Lou!
She turned 1 on April 16th!
She got special attention all day
and even some doggy bagels from Einsteins!

photo op

We had the opportunity to have the very talented Nicole Gerulat photograph our Lucy Lou.  It was such a fun day, and Lucy behaved so well.  I was honored to meet Nicole and see her working first hand.  You can see some of the photo shoot here and here. Check her blog for more to come!

lucy lou diaries

Hello Everyone!
Seeing how I am only 10 months old, I have never experienced what mom and dad call "love day". But I have to say I am a fan! Mom and Dad got me a new RED collar and leash. Which I must say looks great with my auburn fur.  Also they took me to the doggy store and let me pick out a new rope toy.  I love it when mom and dad take the time to run around with me outside. I have to run slow for them, but I don't mind. Can't wait til love day next year.

Loves. Lucy Lou.
