phases of the moon

we're still in the honeymoon phase.
the word honeymoon was originally a reference to the inevitable waning of love
just as the moon goes through waning phases.
full to just a sliver.
we have yet to wane.
we hope to never wane.

we went to Maui for our
"celebration vacation after two persons are married"
we purchased this book,
and would have been lost without it.

the man that wrote this is a maui genius.
he knows the in's and out's
of every city, road and blow hole.
because of him we saw over 25 waterfalls, 2 blow holes,
the road to hana, where Avatar was filmed,
the sun rise above a sea of clouds in 30 degree weather,
we jumped off high cliffs and splashed down below,
walked on black sand beaches,
witnessed humpback whales breaching
and black rock diving rituals,
climbed on a banyan tree that covered an acre,
ate the best shaved ice
and saw the most incredible magic show.
thank you for revealing maui to us mr. doughty.

we stayed near a little city called Lahaina.
It is a maui version of park city.
Banyan tree park was there.
one tree covered one acre.
at the end of the night there
must have been thousands of birds
in the gigantic tree singing their little hearts out.
we were also offered weed 3 times here.

Ahhh. I love Hawaii! It was the bestest and funnest week of my life. And if you don't think that bestest is a word, listen to Bed Rock by Young Money. And for those of you who don't think funnest is a word, ask Steve Jobs:
